Social Skills Development
Good friends are hard to find: Growing interpersonal skills and friendships
Making and keeping friends doesn’t always come easily, but social skills can be learned. For children who are experiencing challenging social situations on play dates, in school, or on the playground, social skills development can be transformative.
We can help develop social skills through modeling, guided play, and practice. We help children interact successfully with their peers through interactive instruction including games, art, and role playing.
Children gain many skills including:
- Identifying and expressing feelings
- Taking turns and sharing
- Asserting themselves positively
- Solving problems
- Dealing with transitions
