PSYCHOLOGICAL & NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT  

A psychological assessment helps us understand how your child thinks, feels, and behaves. We use a variety of tests to assess things like intellectual abilities, learning achievement, personality, and emotional health. We combine these results with information about your child’s life—like their development, health, and relationships at home and school—to create a full picture of their strengths and challenges. This allows us to provide answers to your concerns and identify or clarify diagnoses. 

A neuropsychological assessment takes a closer look at certain areas of brain function, including attention, memory, problem-solving, language, and reasoning. It helps us dig deeper into how your child processes information and how these areas may be impacting their everyday life. The assessment can help in creating individualized plans that support your child’s academic and emotional growth.

We assess and diagnose a range of concerns, including:

• Executive function and problem-solving challenges
• Learning differences
• Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Emotional and behavioral issues
• Social skills development
• Information processing difficulties 

A full assessment will be completed over four to six two-hour sessions, including an initial appointment with parents or caregivers, in-person testing with the child, and a meeting to review results and make a plan.  

Most comprehensive psychological assessments include approximately 20 hours of service – 10 hours of test administration with your child and 10 hours of scoring, interpreting, report writing, and feedback.  Additional support with implementing recommendations can be offered as well.   

We may offer appointments on weekends and flexible scheduling in order to accommodate each family’s school and personal schedules. 

Superbills can be provided for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.  

Assessment tasks can include drawings, storytelling, solving puzzles, answering questions, or completing math problems.  Some may be fun or easy for your child while others may be challenging.  

After the assessment, we keep in contact to support families as they put our recommendations into action.  We can join you during school team individualized educational program (IEP) planning meetings to advocate on behalf of your child’s needs. Our team includes specialists in anxiety, behavioral challenges, and child and adolescent psychiatry, who are here to provide further services and treatment when needed.
