Sarah and Marcus were overjoyed when they welcomed 8-year-old Jackson into their family via adoption. However, their journey took an unexpected turn when Jackson began having behavioral issues due to pandemic-related anxiety.

Determined to help their son, Sarah and Marcus turned to the Center for Children and Youth for support. Our clinical team of psychologists, psychiatrists, and occupational therapists conducted a multi-disciplinary assessment of Jackson’s needs. Together, they identified occupational therapy as Jackson’s most pressing need, and he began weekly sessions.

In just a few months, Sarah and Marcus saw remarkable improvements in their son’s well-being. They were delighted to see Jackson regain his confidence, improve his communication skills, and engage in more social activities. The occupational therapy sessions provided Jackson with a structured routine, boosted his self-esteem and sense of accomplishment, and helped him develop skills that he is now able to use in school and during his daily activities.

“Words cannot express how grateful we are to have been able to work with JFCS over the last year. Your unwavering support has meant so much during this hard year for Jackson. You have helped him so much! Thank you.”

The road to healing may not always be easy, but with the right support, families can overcome any obstacle and build a brighter future together.
